Travel Documentation
REAL ID Requirements
As of May 7, 2025, passengers should travel with a state-issued REAL ID or an acceptable alternative form of ID, like a passport.
Passengers who present a state-issued identification that is not REAL ID compliant at TSA checkpoints and who do not have another acceptable alternative form of ID may be directed to a separate area and may receive additional screening. You can find more information about acceptable identification on the TSA website.
When a Passport is Required
If you’re traveling from FLO to an international destination, you’ll be required to show your passport prior to boarding your flight. Be sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date, as some countries require it.
TSA Guidelines & Travel Regulations
TSA Travel Recommendations
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recommends arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure to allow enough time for check-in and security screening. Be prepared to remove electronics and liquids from your carry-on, and review TSA guidelines to ensure a smooth experience through the checkpoint.
3-1-1 Rule
The “3-1-1 Rule” refers to TSA’s regulation permitting travelers to bring 3.4-ounce (or 100 ml) containers of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, or pastes, all within 1 quart-sized, clear, resealable bag, with 1 bag allowed per passenger at the security checkpoint.
How to Transport a Firearm
Firearms are not allowed in carry-on bags but may be transported in checked luggage if properly packed and declared. The firearm must be unloaded, locked in a hard-sided container, and checked at the airline ticket counter. You can find more information about transporting a firearm on the TSA website.
How to Travel with an Animal
Traveling with an animal requires advance planning and knowledge of airline and TSA regulations. Typically, pets must be added to your reservation by your airline. Once at the airport, animals need to remain in approved carriers if not a service animal. Please visit the TSA website for more detailed information about traveling with your pet.
Additional TSA Regulations and General Information
If you have more questions about what you can bring, how to prepare for screening, or any special procedures, TSA has detailed information for all passengers. You can view the full list of travel regulations and get the most current guidance on the TSA website.
