The Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Building is a critical safety facility at FLO. The new ARFF facility, completed in 2019, houses the airport’s unique, rapid response fire-fighting equipment and includes sleeping quarters and a training area for the airport’s firemen. At FLO, the ARFF building also houses offices for the airport’s Public Safety officers. In the event of an emergency, the ARFF facility can be used as a temporary air traffic control tower.
